WHO AM I?
PERSON THAT...
|
i am on my way
My life was kind of
planned - like a recipe, how to make an apple pie. Every step is clear and cannot
be mixed: the art school, good grades at school, University, master degree...
and probably my parents also have planned the good timing for a great job,
family, children… only then delicious desert can come up. That’s what they
thought... :)
'IT DIDN'T GO AS PLANNED, BUT IT'S OK'
But what else could be expected? First, second... and so far - the last - salary I have earned since I was 16 have been spent for nothing than new adventures, journeys and experiences. And everyone, even my parents, know how to make their child happy. Don't give me wrong, I love to get a massage for a birthday, but if you really want to put a smile on my face - let's take a parachute jump with me. Since very young age I started taking challenges and trying to leave the comfort zone (sometimes it's not so easy to let it go). I tried different activities, such as: parachute jumping, snowboarding, wakeboarding, longboarding (various kinds of bordings as you can see), surfing, lindy-hop classes... No, I did not become a professional in any of these sports, but I am proud to say that I tried them and I am sure that I will repeat all these activities again and again! Well, running is still a passion that I found 2 years ago and in a warm season it's still a pleasure to take an 8km distance with a favourite music.
'DO YOU WANT TO JOIN ME?'
challenges and personality building
I try to think how many countries I've
visited... Quite a lot as being just 23, but too little to say enough. Short
journeys, such as visits to Amsterdam, Nice or Mallorca is a great way to spend
some time with family and friends. But every time I think about something
bigger, something that could last longer.
So two years ago I participated in a "work & Travel USA" program and spent the summer with a friend in a small state of Maine next to the ocean. New people, work experience, different culture is that I've been looking for. I worked in the restaurant as a host, so I had a chance to chat with customers, introduce myself and Lithuania as well. Big responsibility. People were interested where these blond hairs and blue eyes came from and some kind of the game began - guess the country I am from. Americans telling that Lithuania is a country next to the Baltic see impressed me a lot! Sometimes I did have a half-day off, so I took a bike and drove to the ocean to enjoy sun and water. Even after 10 hours spent at the restaurant we did have enough energy and wish to ride 5km to the ocean. |
Of course, I didn't miss the chance to visit Boston and New
York City (absolutely love it!) and it's weird that my impressions about NY have changed 100 of times in a day. However, too little time there, need to come
back!
Time in USA was with its ups and downs but I do not regret any day spent there. But on last days I've already been dreaming about new challenges that are waiting for me. I already had tickets to Portugal in my pocket and couldn't wait for a new experience - erasmus program. Half a year in this country - something that is more challenging because first time I appeared to be all alone in a place I have never been so far. Well, in situations like these something changes in your mind. Such an instinct to find someone you can be with, find friends and start the new road. It gave me self-confidence and definitely improved my personality - I became more open minded and not afraid of difficulties. After this journey few new friends appeared which I love and admire. And probably new friends is the best thing that person could bring back from any life adventures (Guys, I have promised to come to Canada, I will!) :) |
be better. do better
Well, don't think that I am a person who can leave everything behind and is not able to enjoy small things. I love nature (Lithuania is beutiful, I agree!) and especially animals. Even though my childhood was not filled with as many pets as I wanted, my best friends and I have recetly taken a 3 years old cat Stefa from the animal shelter. I do not say that we did something to be proud of, but it is a nice feeling that one little thing finally has home and is beloved. It's a good example not to be afraid of doing someting good, just do it.
WE DID IT AND IT BROUGHT HAPPINESS TO OUR HOME :)
